July 6th marked the start of England hosting the UEFA Women's EURO 2022, with England matched against Austria. The hosts got their campaign off to a flyer with a win against their fellow 2017-beaten semi-finalists. They are definitely competing to go one step further this year.
England
Germany v Spain | 12 July, 7pm GMT
This Group B decider will be between two of the strongest teams; Germany and Spain.
As the team with the most UEFA Women’s Euro trophies (8), the Germans have the opportunity to take back the title, after getting knocked out in the quarter-final stage in 2017. Spain also have a fighting chance, since they were able to draw 1-1 in their previous meeting.
Northern Ireland v England | 15 July, 7pm GMT
England have never lost a competitive match against a home nation...
Can Northern Ireland rain on the English parade, or will England continue their home nation dominance?
Netherlands v Switzerland | 17 July, 4pm GMT
Another significant game to tune into will be this Group C decider.
The Dutch team’s 2019 World Cup performance reinforces their ability to dominate the Swiss team. Meaning it is Switzerland that have a lot more to prove – they'll be hoping to recapture their 2021 form.
