SPORT 24 SIGNS NEW AGREEMENT WITH TENNIS AUSTRALIA

January 13, 2022

Tennis Australia has renewed its broadcast partnership for the Australian Open for a further three years with Sport 24, the IMG owned and operated 24/7 live sports channel for the airline and cruise line industries.

Building on a relationship of more than 10 years, Sport 24 and its sister channel Sport 24 Extra will continue to connect travellers around the world with all the excitement, drama and unmissable action from Melbourne Park as they show more than 150 hours of live AO coverage per year.

In addition, the agreement includes AO lead-in events alongside AO Originals Programs year-round for passengers on select airlines and ships to enjoy.

“We are excited to renew our partnership with Sport 24 and to be able to bring the drama and excitement of all the action here at Melbourne Park to fans travelling across the globe wherever they might be,” said Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley.

“As the first Grand Slam of the year, The Australian Open is always a must-see event for tennis and sports fans alike. We very much value our long-standing partnership with Tennis Australia and are delighted to have extended the relationship for a further three years, which in turn is good news for passengers for the next couple of weeks and the following two years,” said Richard Wise, SVP, Content and Channels, IMG’s media business.

Australian Open 2022, supported by major partner Kia in association with Emirates, Luzhou Laojiao and Rolex, will take place at Melbourne Park from 17-30 January 2022.
